All about me

Hi! I am Deke Tourangbam, a friendly, full of fun, dedicated, highly focus, emotional and ambitious person.

I was born in a small middle class family and had my upbringing in an environment where I had the opportunity to experience different cultures. I am the eldest among our three siblings

By birth I belong to ethnic Meitei community of Manipur, a small but beautiful state in the Northeastern part of India, though by choice I identify myself as a global citizen.
My Birthday falls on 11th of September, the day the twin towers in America crashed after terrorist attack, a day synonymous with the pledge to fight against terrorism in any form worldwide, perhaps that is the reason why I denounce any form of Violence and detest fights and bloodshed.

Though I am not a religious person but I believe everyone on earth is born with a purpose. The only thing is to find out why we are born and that purpose.

I started my schooling in a local school named ST Patrick’s High school run by an Anglo Indian named Mr. GJ Demote, who also was the Head Master of the school. We learn so much good things from him not just academic knowledge but world knowledge also. He was our perpetual guide and source of inspiration who taught us the joy of giving.

Further I continued my Senior Secondary from Manipur Public School, Koirengei in Manipur state. From here I learn that Freedom should not be taken for granted and we should learn to take control of our emotions and wishes. Nothing comes for FREE and for everything we have to pay a price.

Afterwards I completed my college degree in Bsc (Hons) from Imphal College, Imphal in Manipur. This perhaps was the worst phase of my academic years and I learned how political and social turmoil can take its toll on an individual’s studies and career.
A college degree which is generally completed in 3 years took nearly 5 years for the academic session of our batch. College lock out, frequent bandhs and strikes prevailing in the state took its toll and we lost 2 precious years due to academic atmosphere failure. At the end we were at lost but somehow I managed to complete my degree course.

Owing to the political situation, I left the place for my further studies outside the state. I got admitted for my Masters course in Human Resources Management in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Institute of Rural Development under Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra.

After completion of my studies I have been working as a HR recruitment consultant with various Manpower consultancies helping people better their life by finding the right job with their caliber. A highly challenging but somehow satisfying career.

Somehow after all this things I still feel a vacuum in me and took up to writing to share my thoughts with all my friends.
